Drone Surveying

By Prof. Pradeep Kumar Garg, Prof. Prakhar Misra   |   IIT Roorkee
Learners enrolled: 318
ABOUT THE COURSE:

Drones equipped with cameras and sensors can capture high-resolution imagery and collect spatial data, making them valuable for mapping and monitoring large areas. Drones offer efficient and cost-effective solutions for site surveys, progress tracking, and structural inspections, capturing aerial footage for comprehensive site analysis. Drone technology provides up-to-date views of land usage, structures, construction sites, and terrain in a much faster way with low-cost. Drone flights are automated to capture high resolution images and point cloud data across a specified area efficiently. Orthorectified imagery that corrects distortions can be used with survey data and 3D models to give highly detailed site representations. This course aims to create awareness about various types of drones, their components, flying regulations and some selected applications.
