ABOUT THE COURSE:

Advancements and changes in the society constantly challenge individuals in adapting to their workplaces. At the same time, changes provide opportunities to flourish and grow in one’s work and as persons. The backbone of development is learning, which comes from practice and experience. Understanding the learning process is imperative for developing a capable and engaged workforce. This course aims at discussing and analyzing critically the learning process for individuals in organizations. By the end of the course, the learners are expected to have a grasp of what learning is and how it can be enhanced in the organizations. They will be able to think theoretically and apply the insights in practical situations.

INTENDED AUDIENCE: MBA, Executive MBA, Psychology students pursuing or have completed post-graduate course; students of any other discipline pursuing or have completed masters, Industry personnel’s mainly but not limited to those in the L&D domain

INDUSTRY SUPPORT: As most of the established organizations do have a Leadership & Development vertical, this course will be handy to all those in the concerned domain

Instructor bio

Prof. Abraham Cyril Issac

IIT Guwahati
Dr. Abraham Cyril Issac is an Assitant Professor in the School of Business at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India. He has completed a joint Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne. He is a Mechanical engineer from Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur and has completed postgraduate degrees in Business Administration, Psychology, and Business Law from the National Institute of Technology Calicut, University of Madras, and NLSIU Bangalore respectively. He is a trained thermal powerplant engineer. Now he specializes in Organizational Behavior with a special focus on a relatively new construct of Knowledge hiding.

He is a recipient of the IIT Madras Institute Research (IR) Award 2021 awarded by the institute for excellent Ph.D work and the R. N. Rajendran Award for Best Thesis in the area of Organizational Behaviour/Human Resource Management. My academic interests include Organizational Behaviour, Human Resource Management, Knowledge Management, Marketing Management and Macroeconomics. Apart from his regular teaching and research assignments, he also engages actively in consultancy, training and coaching programmes.

Course certificate

The course is free to enroll and learn from. But if you want a certificate, you have to register and write the proctored exam conducted by us in person at any of the designated exam centres.
The exam is optional for a fee of Rs 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only).
Date and Time of Exams: October 25, 2025 Morning session 9am to 12 noon; Afternoon Session 2pm to 5pm.

The online registration form has to be filled and the certification exam fee needs to be paid. More details will be made available when the exam registration form is published. If there are any changes, it will be mentioned then.

CRITERIA TO GET A CERTIFICATE

Average assignment score = 25% of average of best 8 assignments out of the total 12 assignments given in the course.
Exam score = 75% of the proctored certification exam score out of 100

Final score = Average assignment score + Exam score

Please note that assignments encompass all types (including quizzes, programming tasks, and essay submissions) available in the specific week.

YOU WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR A CERTIFICATE ONLY IF AVERAGE ASSIGNMENT SCORE >=10/25 AND EXAM SCORE >= 30/75. If one of the 2 criteria is not met, you will not get the certificate even if the Final score >= 40/100.

Certificate will have your name, photograph and the score in the final exam with the breakup.It will have the logos of NPTEL and IIT Guwahati .It will be e-verifiable at nptel.ac.in/noc.

Only the e-certificate will be made available. Hard copies will not be dispatched.
