ABOUT THE COURSE:
Growth of any country largely depends upon the effective functioning of its government and public organizations. It is critical to understand how public organisations should be managed and develop capabilities to further improve their functioning. This course will provide the students with greater depth of research and theory about public management. It will further help them analyse various themes on the management of individuals, groups and processes in public sector organizations.

INTENDED AUDIENCE: UG and PG students, civil servants, people working in government and public sector organizations, employees working in private sector organizations interested in understanding various aspects of public management, and faculty teaching courses in the areas of general and public management.

Instructor bio

Prof. Vaneet Kashyap

IIT Tirupati
Prof. Vaneet Kashyap is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India. He received his Ph.D. in the area of Organizational Behavior at Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. Prof. Kashyap has around 10 years of experience in research, teaching and training in the area of Organizational Behavior/Psychology. Prior to joining IIT Tirupati, Prof. Kashyap was an Assistant Professor at Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh. Prof. Kashyap is specialized in teaching courses on Organizational Leadership, Organizational/ Industrial Psychology, Human Resources Management, Leadership and Team Management, Organizational Behavior. He has published a number research papers in National and International journals of repute like Journal of Career Development, International Journal of Productivity and Performance Management, International Journal of Organizational Analysis, European Journal of Training and Development, South Asian Journal of Human Resources Management. He has also conducted many training programmes and MDPs for the industry professionals. The various training modules delivered by him include Leadership for Organizational Effectiveness, Building effective Teams, Performing for Excellence, Communication, Managerial Skills for Technical Personnel, Achievement Orientation, Managing Self and Interpersonal Dynamics, Problem Solving, Decision making etc.

The course is free to enroll and learn from. But if you want a certificate, you have to register and write the proctored exam conducted by us in person at any of the designated exam centres.
The exam is optional for a fee of Rs 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only).
Date and Time of Exams:May 4, 2025 Morning session 9am to 12 noon; Afternoon Session 2pm to 5pm.

CRITERIA TO GET A CERTIFICATE

Average assignment score = 25% of average of best 8 assignments out of the total 12 assignments given in the course.
Exam score = 75% of the proctored certification exam score out of 100

Final score = Average assignment score + Exam score

Please note that assignments encompass all types (including quizzes, programming tasks, and essay submissions) available in the specific week.

YOU WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR A CERTIFICATE ONLY IF AVERAGE ASSIGNMENT SCORE >=10/25 AND EXAM SCORE >= 30/75. If one of the 2 criteria is not met, you will not get the certificate even if the Final score >= 40/100.

Certificate will have your name, photograph and the score in the final exam with the breakup.It will have the logos of NPTEL and IIT Tirupati .It will be e-verifiable at nptel.ac.in/noc.

Only the e-certificate will be made available. Hard copies will not be dispatched.
