ABOUT THE COURSE:
Human resource management is an essential part of management education as it centers around the activities of individuals nested within the system and interacting amongst themselves and the system to create output. Dynamics of HR is now ready to adopt AI in its advent. The focus on AI in HRM is the crux of this course which will equip the participants to understand human resource management by applying state-of-the-art artificial intelligence technology. The course encompasses the detailing of the use of AI that helps in improving efficiency and developing a talented and productive workforce. AI has created a variety of opportunities for HR functions. AI for HR empowers HR professionals to leverage this potential. By the end of this course, students are expected to understand the current technology landscape and the latest AI developments, and undoubtedly the HR professionals will understand what AI is and what it means for HR in practice. Covering everything from recruitment and retention to employee engagement and learning and development, and the value AI can add to HR, it also features discussions on the challenges that can arise from AI and how to deal with them.

Instructor bio

Prof. Abraham Cyril Issac

IIT Guwahati
Prof. Abraham Cyril Issac is an Assistant Professor in the School of Business at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India. He is a Ph.D from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras and Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne. He is a Mechanical Engineer from Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur and holds postgraduate degrees in Business Administration, Psychology and Business Laws from, National Institute of Technology Calicut, University of Madras and NLSIU Bangalore respectively. He specializes now in Organizational Behaviour with a special focus on a relatively new construct of "Knowledge hiding" and is one of the most productive researchers in the area. His academic interests include Human Resource Management, Knowledge Management, and Strategy. He is the recipient of the IIT Madras Institute Research Award 2021 and the R.N. Rajendran Best Thesis Award. He has published and presented extensively in various reputed international journals and conferences. Apart from his regular teaching and research assignments, he also engages actively in consultancy, training and coaching programmes.

IIT Madras Institute Research (IR) Award 2021 for his excellent Ph.D work

The course is free to enroll and learn from. But if you want a certificate, you have to register and write the proctored exam conducted by us in person at any of the designated exam centres.
The exam is optional for a fee of Rs 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only).
Date and Time of Exams:May 4, 2025 Morning session 9am to 12 noon; Afternoon Session 2pm to 5pm.

The online registration form has to be filled and the certification exam fee needs to be paid. More details will be made available when the exam registration form is published. If there are any changes, it will be mentioned then.

CRITERIA TO GET A CERTIFICATE

Average assignment score = 25% of average of best 8 assignments out of the total 12 assignments given in the course.
Exam score = 75% of the proctored certification exam score out of 100

Final score = Average assignment score + Exam score

Please note that assignments encompass all types (including quizzes, programming tasks, and essay submissions) available in the specific week.

YOU WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR A CERTIFICATE ONLY IF AVERAGE ASSIGNMENT SCORE >=10/25 AND EXAM SCORE >= 30/75. If one of the 2 criteria is not met, you will not get the certificate even if the Final score >= 40/100.

Certificate will have your name, photograph and the score in the final exam with the breakup.It will have the logos of NPTEL and IIT Guwahati .It will be e-verifiable at nptel.ac.in/noc.

Only the e-certificate will be made available. Hard copies will not be dispatched.
