This course is based
on a premise that creativity and imagination have an innate ability to push the
cognitive boundaries beyond the limits of logic and reason. Hence the course intends
to prime the learners to better understand and appreciate life through teaching Literature
as it embodies profound and aesthetic expressions of humanity. Equipped with a
curated reading of poetry, fiction, and drama, it proposes to promote imaginative
reading and critical thinking skills and thereby help learners in deeply
engaging with people and the world around. Through lectures, interactions and
assignments, the course also encourages learners to develop an awareness to
recognise diversities and accommodate differences such that it fosters and fortifies
the multicultural fabric of humanity.
