ABOUT THE COURSE:

Dr Ankush Gupta

Ministry of youth affairs and sports
Dr. Ankush Gupta is Senior Project Officer in National Anti Doping Agency, an autonomous body of Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. Dr. Ankush Gupta has obtained Master in Science (MSc) in 2004 in Biochemistry and a doctorate (PhD) in Biochemistry in 2009 having specialization in cell biology & toxicology.Dr. Gupta is working in NADA since 2009 for promotion of anti doping, fair play & ethics in sports including awareness campaigns by way of engaging stakeholders, conducting anti doping educational and awareness workshops/programs for athletes and support staff across the country. Dr. Gupta has participated in various International Conferences and Seminars organized by World Anti Doping Agency and other Anti Doping Organizations in Europe, Asia, Middle East and other parts of the Globe.


Prof. Col (Dr) Anup Krishnan (Retd)

School of Sports, Exercise & Nutrition Sciences
Prof. Col (Dr) Anup Krishnan (Retd) Colonel (Dr) Anup Krishnan (Retd) is an Ex Indian Army Sports Medicine Doctor who served the nation for 23 years. He has completed MBBS from Bombay University in 1997 and DSM from National Institute of Sports, Patiala (2010) and has also completed his PhD in Sports Rehabilitation (2014). He has several certifications related to Sports Medicine from India and abroad. He has headed the Sports Medicine departments at Army Hospital (Research & Referral), Delhi Cantt, Army Sports Institute, Pune and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. He has been Faculty and Examiner for the MD Sports Medicine programme at AFMC, Pune. He has been the Honorary Sports Medicine Consultant to the President of India from 2010 – 2012. He is experienced in all aspects of Sports Medicine and has represented Services at several national sports events and India at several International sports events as Team Doctor and Ringside Physician. He has been instrumental in Return to Sports of several International sportsmen and is a panel member for the National Anti-Doping Agency and NRRT/TOPS scheme of SAI.
He has 22 paper publications and presentations to his credit and has been awarded the Chief of Naval Staff award for best published paper in Medicine and Allied subjects 2017 and the best published paper in Medical Journal Armed Forces India 2018.
Sports Rehabilitation, Exercise prescription, Training methodology, Doping control, Talent identification and Development, Exercise Physiology and Injury prevention are his key interests. He is currently working as Director and Professor, School of Sports and Exercise Sciences, DY Patil University, Navi Mumbai and as Consultant, Sports Medicine and Spine Rehabilitation with Qi Spine Clinic. He brings a wealth of teaching and practical clinical experience to this course


Mr Jay Singh

NADA, Ministry of youth affairs and sports
Prof. Jay Singh Over 15 years of Anti-Doping experience with NADA India having vast experience in activities like:
• Monitoring, coordination, and implementation of dope testing activities of NADA which includes but not limited to preparation of risk assessment & test distribution plan for dope testing, preparation of mission order, deployment of DCO/BCO, onsite management of dope control activities during mega event like National Games, Khelo India Games, Lusofonia Games etc and other key international event conducted in India like International Marathon, FIH Hockey league, BWF badminton events etc.
• Played a key role in the preparation of registered testing pool and athlete biological pool of NADA.
• Played a key role in the empanelment, training and re-accreditation training of sample collection personnel in NADA.
• Overseen the result management activities (pre-adjudication process) of NADA which includes but not limited to preparation, uploading in ADAMS & issuing of notices in the Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV) reported cases, taking consent on B sample confirmation & provisional suspension from the concerned athletes and disposal of ADRV within the timeline.
• Played a key role in the adhering of code compliance activities like WADA CCQ program and in the ISO certification process of NADA.
• Served as International DCO during major global events in India and abroad.
• Key speaker in national and international Anti-Doping seminars.
• Currently leading the Education department at NADA India.
• In my present capacity as the head of the Education section at NADA, I have strategized, executed, and overseen Anti-Doping Education and Awareness sessions during the 37th National Games held in Goa in 2023. During these sessions, we employed diverse tools and activities, such as registration processes, distribution of souvenirs, dissemination of informative leaflets, Knowledge Your Medication (KYM) sessions, quizzes, pledge ceremonies, feedback mechanisms, puzzles, and active engagement through social media platforms. Additionally, we conducted targeted Anti-Doping education and awareness sessions in collaboration with various states, specifically during the prelude and duration of the games.


Prof. Dobson Dominic

Prof. Dobson Dominic (MBBS,M.D Sports Medicine, Phd Scholar Sports Science) is the Professor & Head-Department of Sports Medicine & Sports Sciences –Saveetha Medical College. He is also Sports Medicine Consultant for Tamil Nadu Badminton Team, Apollo Hospitals He is the Founding Vice President- ISSEM (Indian Society of Sports & Exercise Medicine) His experience includes serving as Sports Medicine Consultant for New Zealand Cricket Team in India 2016-17 His Professional Teaching Experience include starting Sports Medicine Department & MD Sports Medicine Programs in several Medical Colleges in Tamil Nadu ,Chettinad Medical College & Saveetha Medical College ,he has also started several Sports Science programs such as Msc Sports Bio-mechanics & Msc Exercise Physiology & Sports Nutrition .He has organized several International & National Conferences such as ISSEMCON 2022 -1rst International Conference of ISSEM , Chetphysiexcon -2017, Sports Sciences for Health & Performance -SIMATS -2022, Saveetha Sports Med Con -2023. He has several publications to his credit with more than 10 International Scopus publications, he is also the recipient of BWF research Grant for Sports sciences 2022. He has several Awards to his credit being a Gold Medal MD Sports Medicine. He is also a National level Badminton player being a 13 times Tamil Nadu State Badminton Champion – (7 juniors 6 Masters) & National Badminton Champion -Pan Masters. He brings a wealth of Teaching & Clinical Expertise in Sports Medicine & Sports Sciences

The course is free to enroll and learn from. But if you want a certificate, you have to register and write the proctored exam conducted by us in person at any of the designated exam centres.
The exam is optional for a fee of Rs 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only).
Date and Time of Exams: May 4, 2025 Morning session 9am to 12 noon; Afternoon Session 2pm to 5pm.

CRITERIA TO GET A CERTIFICATE

Average assignment score = 25% of average of best 6 assignments out of the total 8 assignments given in the course.
Exam score = 75% of the proctored certification exam score out of 100

Final score = Average assignment score + Exam score

Please note that assignments encompass all types (including quizzes, programming tasks, and essay submissions) available in the specific week.

YOU WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR A CERTIFICATE ONLY IF AVERAGE ASSIGNMENT SCORE >=10/25 AND EXAM SCORE >= 30/75. If one of the 2 criteria is not met, you will not get the certificate even if the Final score >= 40/100.

Certificate will have your name, photograph and the score in the final exam with the breakup.It will have the logos of NPTEL and IIT Madras .It will be e-verifiable at nptel.ac.in/noc.

Only the e-certificate will be made available. Hard copies will not be dispatched.
