Dear Candidate,

Here is a golden opportunity for those who had previously enrolled in this course during the Jan 2022 semester, but could not participate in the exams or were absent/did not pass the exam for this course. This course is being reoffered in July 2022 and we are giving you another chance to write the exam in September 2022 and obtain a certificate based on NPTEL norms. Do not let go of this unique opportunity to earn a certificate from the IITs/IISc.

IMPORTANT instructions for learners - Please read this carefully 

1. The exam date for this course: Sep 25, 2022
2. CLICK HERE to register for the exam.
Please fill the exam form using the same Enrolled email id & make fee payment via the form, as before.
3. Choose from the Cities where exam will be conducted: Exam Cities
4. You DO NOT have to re-enroll in the courses. 
5. You DO NOT have to resubmit Assignments OR participate in the non-proctored 
programming exams in the previous semester
6. If you do enroll to July 2022 course, we will take the best average assignment scores/non-proctored programming exam score across the two semesters

NOTE:

Please check once if you have >= 40/100  in average assignment score and also participated and satisfied the criteria in the  non-proctored programming exams that were conducted in Jan 2022 to become eligible for the e-certificate, wherever applicable.

If not, please submit assignments again in the July 2022 course and also participate in the non-proctored programming exams to become eligible for the e-certificate.

We will not be having new assignments or unproctored exams in the previous semester's(Jan 2022) course.

You can also submit assignments again and participate in the non-proctored programming exams if you want to take fresh assignments or need to improve your previous scores.

RECOMMENDATION: If you want to take new assignments and an unproctored exam or brush up on your lessons for the exam, please enroll in the July 2022 course.

8. 50% fee waiver for the following categories: 

Students belonging to the SC/ST category: please select Yes for the SC/ST option and upload the correct Community certificate.

Students belonging to the PwD category with more than 40% disability: please select Yes for the option and upload the relevant Disability certificate. 

9. Last date for exam registration: Aug 19, 2022, 10:00 AM (Friday). 

10. Mode of payment: Online payment - debit card/credit card/net banking/UPI. 

11. HALL TICKET: 

The hall ticket will be available for download tentatively by 2 weeks prior to the exam date . We will confirm the same through an announcement once it is published. 

12. FOR CANDIDATES WHO WOULD LIKE TO WRITE MORE THAN 1 COURSE EXAM:- you can add or delete courses and pay separately till the date when the exam form closes. Same day of exam you can write exams for 2 courses in the 2 sessions. Same exam center will be allocated for both the sessions. 

13. Data changes: 

Last date for data changes: Aug 19, 2022, 10:00 AM: 

All the fields in the Exam form except for the following ones can be changed until the form closes. 

The following 6 fields can be changed ONLY when there are NO courses in the course cart. And you will be able to edit the following fields only if you: -

NPTEL: Exam Registration is open now for Jan 2022 courses!

Dear Learner, 


Here is the much-awaited announcement on registering for the Jan 2022 NPTEL course certification exam. 


1. The registration for the certification exam is open only to those learners who have enrolled in the course. 

2. If you want to register for the exam for this course, login here using the same email id which you had used to enroll to the course in Swayam portal. Please note that Assignments submitted through the exam registered email id ALONE will be taken into consideration towards final consolidated score & certification. 

3. Date of exam: March 27, 2022

4. Exam fees: 


If you register for the exam and pay before Feb 14, 2022, 10:00 AM, Exam fees will be Rs. 1000/- per exam

If you register for exam before Feb 14, 2022, 10:00 AM and have not paid or if you register between Feb 14, 2022, 10:00 AM & Feb 18, 2022, 10:00 AM, Exam fees will be Rs. 1500/- per exam 


5. 50% fee waiver for the following categories: 


Students belonging to the SC/ST category: please select Yes for the SC/ST option and upload the correct Community certificate.


Students belonging to the PwD category with more than 40% disability: please select Yes for the option and upload the relevant Disability certificate. 


6. Last date for exam registration: Feb 18, 2022 10:00 AM (Friday). 


7. Mode of payment: Online payment - debit card/credit card/net banking. 


8. HALL TICKET: 


The hall ticket will be available for download tentatively by 2 weeks prior to the exam date . We will confirm the same through an announcement once it is published. 


9. FOR CANDIDATES WHO WOULD LIKE TO WRITE MORE THAN 1 COURSE EXAM:- you can add or delete courses and pay separately – till the date when the exam form closes. Same day of exam – you can write exams for 2 courses in the 2 sessions. Same exam center will be allocated for both the sessions. 


10. Data changes: 


Last date for data changes: Feb 18, 2022 10:00 AM: 


All the fields in the Exam form except for the following ones can be changed until the form closes. 


The following 6 fields can be changed ONLY when there are NO courses in the course cart. And you will be able to edit the following fields only if you: -

1. When do lecture videos become available in the portal?
   The course will begin on 24th January 2022. The lecture videos, any extra reading material/resources and assignment details of a 
   particular week will be released in the portal at the start of every week. for example, videos and materials of week 1 will be available from
   24th January 2022 onwards. you can access it from the left panel of the course home page.

   please watch the lectures, follow the course regularly and submit all assignments before the due date.

2. How long the videos and reference materials of a week will be available online?
    The lecture videos and reference materials that are being released on a weekly basis will be available in the portal throughout the
    course duration.

3. Will we receive any alerts regarding the release of the contents in the portal? 
    Yes. You will get an email alert through the discussion forum as and when the course materials are released.

4. How do I join the discussion forum?
    Please login to the course. Then click Ask question tab and Please click "Join this group" to become a member of the discussion forum. 
    You will receive notifications through this forum.

    Here itself you can choose any one of the given options (Don't send e-mail updates, send daily summaries, send combined updates (25 messages per mail), Notify me for every new message) to set up how you wish to receive messages from this forum.  

    All academic discussions, including queries for various aspects of the course, etc. will also be taking place in this Forum. Hence, 
    we suggest not unsubscribing to the Discussion Forum.

5. What is the purpose of the ANNOUNCEMENT section available in the course home page?
    It will only have messages from course instructors and teaching assistants - regarding the lessons, assignments, exam registration,
    hall tickets etc.

6. What is the purpose of the FORUM available in the course home page?

  •  This is for everyone to ask questions and interact.
  •  If you have any questions regarding the technical contents in the lectures, any doubts in the assignments or any question related to the exam registration, hall tickets, results, etc, kindly write about this in the FORUM and NIeCer Team will respond to it.
  •  Your queries will be answered within 48 hours of posting.
  •  Please use this well and participate to benefit from the course.


7. How can I discuss and ask queries about a particular video lecture topic?

    For every video lecture, a separate Query thread will be available under the discussion forum. You can raise questions and clarify your
    doubts under that particular thread.  Please keep in mind before posting any queries related to a topic, confirm you are posting in
    that particular Query thread maintained for that topic in the discussion forum. Posting in different thread may bring confusions and addressing
    the queries will be delayed.

8. Can I know more details about Assignments?

  •  Assignments of this course are of MCQs types.
  •  Every lecture will be followed by a 10 MCQs quiz.
  •  Due date for submission of answers for every lecture will be announced (TEN days from the date of posting of assignment)
  •  Solutions submitted before the due date will only be considered.
  •  You are free to attempt to answer any number of times before the due date.
  •  The last attempt will be taken as your final submission for grading purposes.
  •  The quiz will be graded and these marks used for your final assessment.
  •  Please do not post answers in the FORUM. TAs from NIeCer Team will provide answers for MCQs after the due date for submission is over.
  • Any queries about the assignments will be answered as long as they are not directed to obtain/reveal answers for MCQs.


9. Can I get more details regarding the Examination?
    We offer two options before you.
    Option 1: Course completion WITH e-certification at the end of the course (Only the e-certificate will be made available. Hard copies are being discontinued from July 2019 semester and will not be dispatched)

 

    Option 2: Course completion WITHOUT certification

    Option 1: Course completion WITH e-certification at the end of the course
    e-certificate will be issued by NIE-ICMR and NPTEL to those who are successful in a final certification exam at the end of the course.

    The certification exam will be conducted by us at the end of the course and the announcement about the registration for the 
     the exam will be made subsequently.

    A form has to be filled and the certification exam has a fee (Rs.1000), which needs to be paid at the time of registration.

    Exams will be held online at designated centers in selected cities of India. The location of examination centers will depend on the number
    of participants registering for the exam from a particular city. The final list of exam cities will be available in the exam registration form.

   Option 2: Course completion WITHOUT certification
   If you are not interested in a certificate and just want to learn/refresh yourself about health research methods, you do not need to register
   for the exam.
   However, you will continue to have access to the course contents until the end of the course duration.

10. Whether a person residing outside India can give the exam?
      NPTEL conducts the final certification exam as a proctored exam where the candidate has to come in-person to a center in one of the 
      cities listed in India and attend the exam. we do not have a process in place to conduct the proctored exams for candidates outside India.
      Hence, the students residing outside India can enroll and study these courses - but obtaining the certificate is not a possibility currently.

This a 8 Weeks course will begin on 24th January2022 When content is released on the portal, you will get an email alerting you.

CONTENT AND ASSIGNMENTS
 
  • Every week, about 2.5 to 4 hours of videos containing content by the Course instructor will be released along with an assignment based on this. Please watch the lectures, follow the course regularly and submit all assessments and assignments before the due date. Your regular participation is vital for learning and doing well in the course. This will be done week on week through the duration of the course.
  • Please do the assignments yourself and even if you take help, kindly try to learn from it. These assignments will help you prepare for the final exams. Plagiarism and violating the Honor Code will be taken very seriously if detected during the submission of assignments.

ANNOUNCEMENT AND DISCUSSION GROUPS TO CLEAR DOUBTS:

  • The announcement group - will only have messages from course instructors and teaching assistants - regarding the lessons, assignments, exam registration, hall tickets, etc.
  • The discussion forum (Ask a question tab on the portal) - is for everyone to ask questions and interact. Anyone who knows the answers can reply to anyone's post and the course instructor/TA will also respond to your queries.
  • Please make maximum use of this feature as this will help you learn much better.

TO GET A CERTIFICATE - PROCESS, AND CRITERIA:
  • The course is free to enroll and learn from. But if you want a certificate, you have to register and write the proctored exam conducted by us in person at any of the designated exam centres.
  • The exam is optional for a fee of Rs 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only).
  • Date and Time of Exams: March 27, 2022 Morning session 9am to 12 noon; Afternoon Session 2 pm to 5 pm.
  • Registration URL: Announcements will be made when the registration form is open for registrations.
  • The online registration form has to be filled and the certification exam fee needs to be paid. More details will be made available when the exam registration form is published. If there are any changes, it will be mentioned then.
