Subscribe to forum by email

The discussion forum by default does not subscribe members to the google groups, enabling communication by email.
There is a button called "Ask a Question" on the Ask a Question tab click join this group - which will subscribe you to the forum by email.
The advantage is that questions asked on the forum will be delivered to your inbox and your reply can be done through email, which will get posted on the forum, instead of logging into the portal every time.

There is also the subscribe by "Digest" option (go to google groups->choose this forum group -> Manage -> All members -> choose your id -> Actions ->Change delivery setting).
This will group the posts and send single email.
