Manufacturing systems technology part II


This is an introductory level course in Manufacturing Systems Technology and management(part-II). For most enterprises, the long term goal is to stay in business, grow and make profits.This is particularly true for manufacturing enterprises, which must understand the dynamic changes that are taking place in business environment and are flexible enough to change at every level. This course is an introductory course for engineering professionals who would like to take up careers in manufacturing and also for professionals who are already in manufacturing careers and would like to see the technological changes that manufacturing paradigm has witnessed in the last 3 decades.

Prof. Shantanu Bhattacharya is currently as Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of technology Kanpur. Prior to joining the department he has been associated at a senior management level at Suzuki Motors and has over 6 years of experience in various production capacities and positions. Prof.Bhattacharya currently takes care of the 4-I laboratory at IIT Kanpur as its coordinator
and has also been associated with the TA202 laboratory as coordinator between 2012-2015. Both these laboratories are very high end in terms of offering manufacturing training programs.

The exam is optional.

Exams will be on 1 November 2015 and 8 November, 2015.

Time: 1 pm-4 pm

The list of cities where the exam will be conducted will be available in the registration form.

Registration URL: Announcements will be made when the registration form is open for registrations.

The online registration form has to be filled and the certification exam fee of Rs 1000, needs to be paid.


Certificate will be given to those who register and write the exam. Certificate will have your name, photograph and the score in the final exam.

It will also have the logos of NPTEL and IIT Kanpur. It will also be e-verifiable on the nptel.ac.in/noc website.
